Deepa Mehta-produced "Cooking with Stella" will open the 8th Indian
Film Festival Los Angeles on April 20.
Toronto-based Mehta will attend with her brother Dilip, who made his
feature helming debut with the film, and pic's star Lisa Ray.
Fest salutes filmmakers of Indian origin.
The gala, co-sponsored by SAG, Telefilm Canada and the Canadian High Consulate, will benefit the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research (www.imbcr.org).
"Stella" premiered at the Toronto fest in September.
IFFLA runs April 20-25 at the ArcLight in Hollywood. The rest of the lineup
